Frequently Asked Questions
What is ABA?
Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) is an evidence-based therapy that helps children develop skills such as communication, emotional regulation, social interaction, and daily living skills. ABA works by understanding why behaviors happen and using positive, supportive strategies to teach new skills and reduce challenging behaviors. In a parent coaching model, ABA therapy is woven into everyday routines, empowering parents with practical tools, guidance, and confidence to support their child’s progress in meaningful, real-life situations.
What is a BCBA?
A BCBA (Board Certified Behavior Analyst) is a licensed professional who designs and oversees behavior-based therapy programs, often using Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA). They assess a child’s strengths and needs, create individualized plans, and coach parents and caregivers on strategies that support learning, behavior, and daily life skills.
Who do you serve?
I work with all children with communication, behavior, and sleep concerns. I have experience with children with autism, ADHD, anxiety, ODD, rare genetic conditions, and complex or multiple diagnoses, as well as children without a formal diagnosis. While a diagnosis can offer insight into a child’s strengths, challenges, and needs, my approach is centered on the individual child—creating personalized, responsive programs that support who they are, not just the diagnosis. I have worked with individuals up through high school. I specialize in early intervention and early childhood, primarily from 12 months up to 12 years old.
What type of payment do you accept?
All of my services are billed as private pay. I am not in-network with any insurance company. If you have out-of-network benefits, you may be eligible for reimbursement for my 1:1 behavioral therapy or parent coaching services. I am currently working on becoming a Florida StepUp Scholarship provider.
How are services provided?
All of my ABA therapy services are primarily completed virtually, typically lasting 30-60 minutes per session in Florida, Georgia, and certain states (please inquire) . In some occasions, services can be set up if you are local to the Tampa, FL area.
Anyone can access all my educational content, parent modules, and resources for families and professionals. These services are not therapy, not medical or mental health treatment, and do not constitute the practice of applied behavior analysis (ABA) or any other healthcare service. No diagnosis, treatment, or clinical intervention is provided with my educational resources.
How do you determine how many sessions our family needs?
A complimentary intake call is offered to determine whether virtual parent coaching is a good fit for your family and your child’s needs. If we decide to move forward, a family intake and assessment will be completed, followed by individualized recommendations for ongoing sessions. Services are billed per session with no long-term commitment, and you are always free to discontinue if the support no longer feels right for your family.
